Justin Saulnier Owner/Director

Justin Saulnier was born in Saint John, New Brunswick where he fell in love with performing at the age of nine. Justin has been a competitive dancer since the age of 9 winning numerous special awards and scholarships. He is trained in a variety of disciplines including tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, ballet and musical theatre.

Justin has completed the Commercial Dance Studies Program at George Brown College where he was taught by some of Toronto's most sought after instructors. While training in school he has had the opportunity to train in circus with one of Toronto's very popular cirque companies, A2D2. Justin has also had the opportunity to perform with the Jersey Boys through DivaGirl Entertainment, he has worked with A2D2 Aerial Cirque Company, he has performed at the Premiers Awards with George Brown College and has been chosen to be apart of the Lindsay Ritter Dance Company – One of Toronto's well known Commercial Dance Companies.

Justin has numerous years of teaching experience and is very familiar with the proper technique training. His choreography has won numerous special awards, choreography awards and first place/ top overall awards. Justin's ambition and drive makes him successful at what he does, he cannot wait to bring his training, experience and professional connections to his dream/ owned studio D.A.T.A.

Carina Charest
Instructor

Carina began dancing at the age of 2. During her years as a dancer, Carina trained in many styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Contemporary and Gymnastics with prestigious teachers and choreographers based in NB, Quebec, and Ontario. She also trained in Baton Twirling for 18 years. During those years in Baton Twirling, she participated in numerous competitions and won several awards and titles at the Provincial, National and International Events. She completed the CBTF Level 1 Coaching course and the NCCP Level 1 in Baton Twirling.

Carina has been teaching dance since the age of 14 and had the chance to create and produce several Musical Shows. In 2003, she performed in the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Canada Games. In 2007, she participated in the National Artist Program for the Canada Games in Yukon. Carina completed a Bachelor of Education from the Université de Moncton in 2009. She now works for the Anglophone South District as a Middle School Math and French Teacher.

Carina enjoys the passion and freedom which dance provides her with, and she aims to share this passion with her students. Having her First Aid Training in Mental Health, Carina wishes to help her students grow in a comforting, encouraging and positive environment.


Vanessa Calhoun
Instructor

With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, Vanessa Calhoun has established herself as a leading figure in the dance community. Her journey began at a young age, and she has since garnered numerous awards and scholarships, including the prestigious "Rising Star" accolade from Dance Spirit Magazine.

Vanessa's commitment to excellence is evident in her completion of the graded syllabus with the Royal Academy of Dance in Canada. She further honed her craft by graduating from the renowned Commercial Dance program at George Brown College. Vanessa's training was enriched through her time with Ballet Jorgen, where she refined her technique and artistry.

Her professional career is a testament to her versatility and dedication. Vanessa has assisted, taught, and performed with the Toronto-based company Dance Kraze Productions, bringing her unique flair to every performance. As a dance captain and performer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Japan Cruise Line's world cruises, she captivated audiences worldwide.

Vanessa's talent and leadership shone brightly as the dance captain, performer, and choreographer for the Saint John Mill Rats Dance Team. Her choreography and performance skills have left an indelible mark on the dance community.

For the past decade, Vanessa has been a cornerstone of Dynamic Academy of the Arts, where she has inspired and mentored countless students as a teacher and choreographer. Her passion for dance and unwavering commitment to her students' growth continue to make her an invaluable asset to the academy and a cherished mentor to all who have the privilege of learning from her.


Emily Burton
Instructor

Emily Burton is entering her final year at UNBSJ in the concurrent BA/BEd program with plans of becoming a teacher! Emily has been dancing since the age of 4 and has been apart of the DATA family since 2016 dancing and training in various styles such as contemporary, jazz, hip hop, lyrical & acro! Winning many special awards and competitions with her team. She has been teaching recreational and competitive classes here at DATA since 2018. This year Emily will be organizing and running our first ever summer camps! She looks forward to sharing her love and passion of dance with all of the DATA students this year!
